MRT is excited to announce the addition of a new exhaust system to our product lineup: the all-new MRT Interceptor Axle-back for 2011 V6 Mustangs.
Of course, being car experts and enthusiasts, we were pumped when we heard about the release of the redesigned 2011 Ford Mustang. With a 305 horsepower V6 engine and 412 horsepower GT engine to go with the classic muscle car look, who wouldn’t be excited? The newest Mustang should make the pony gods proud straight from the factory.
Our team at MRT, however, is also a gang of perfectionists. We’re always looking for opportunities to make the best even better, the fast even faster, and our favorite legends even more fun to drive.
Enter the all-new MRT Interceptor Axle-back System for 2011 V6 Mustangs.
We wanted an exhaust system that would do the new pony justice, and we believe our engineering team has accomplished just that with the new MRT Interceptor performance exhaust. The new MRT Interceptor Axle-Back is designed to give your 2011 Mustang the performance exhaust sound it deserves without any annoying resonance.
Like all our exhaust systems, the new MRT Interceptor Axle-Back is built from high-quality stainless steel materials to ensure it can withstand whatever the elements throw at it. We want you to be happy with the system for many years to come.
The MRT Interceptor Axle-back also features a bolt-on design. This makes it easy to install and avoids unnecessary modifications to your vehicle. We should do all the hard work, not you! Our goal is for Mustang owners to enjoy the system with as little hassle as possible.
The Interceptor Axle-back for 2011 V6 Mustangs is now in-stock and available for purchase. The Interceptor Axle-back has been added to our online store. The MRT part number is 91A102. Please feel free to call us with us any questions you may have. Affordable installation services are available at our performance shop, MRT Performance, located in Plymouth, MI.

Do you have a Max Thunder system available for the 2008 V6 Mustang convertible?
@Dean – Yep we do! We have two systems for 2005-2009 V6: the MaxThunder and the Aeroturbine. The two have different mufflers, so they sound slightly different. I think the Aeroturbine’s a little bit louder, whereas the MaxThunder is quieter at idle.
I installed this on my 2010 V6 and it sounds great, even in the lower RPM ranges. It definitely gets attention. The sound in the car is actually quite loud, so for those of you who aren’t really serious about how your car sounds, this isn’t for you. But for me this is awesome!!! Huge difference from the stock muffler.
is the interceptor the same as the maxthunder?
Yes, you may have heard this exhaust for the 2011 Mustang V6 called the “MaxThunder.” Early on we debuted the system under this name, but decided that its sound and personality belonged better in the “Interceptor” exhaust family. Thanks for the question!
